LCMC Gathering

It has been an amazing week! We have over 600 people visiting Atonement. Hopefully, they've enjoyed being here. I know I've enjoyed being a part of this awesome event. Sunday night started with an amazing worship service. It was powerful, exciting and moving. Josh, Jarl and the worship team did an amazing job leading service. The skit was one word - HILARIOUS! And Dale's message was so moving. He talked about Winter and how our faith goes through periods of winter - and that the spring ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS returns! It was just awesome. We've met many new people, reconnected with old friends and I, for one, have been reaffirmed in my belief that I truly work at the best place in the world!

Remember, all Wednesday activities at the church are canceled - however, you do have a fellowship night tomorrow. Have fun and we will see you on Saturday morning when we head to PRBC!

Busy Week!

It is a busy week! This Saturday and Sunday we are hosting Homeless and Hungry. There are 30 people participating here at Atonement! That's awesome for our first year. Did you know that even if you are not participating in Homeless and Hungry, you can still help out? Be a prayer warrior for us! At noon on Sunday, start praying for our group. Pray for strength and perseverance for us as we fast. Pray for the entire Fargo-Moorhead Community as they take part in this awesome weekend!

Talking Faith with your Teen

One of the most sensitive issues to discuss with your child is faith. It ranks right up their on the discomfort scale with sex, drugs and alcohol. Faith is a very personal issue, and many parents struggle with what to say, how to say it, and whether to even bring it up. But here's the truth - faith begins with YOU! Moms and Dads are the most influential in their child's faith life.

There is a great article available on talking faith with your child. I encourage you to read it and start the conversation today. It has great tips on opening the door to conversation and encouraging faith to grow!

Homeless and Hungry 2009

Youth - we are SO pumped to be participating in Homeless and Hungry this year. It's gonna be a GREAT time! Here's what you need to do:

Come to Orientation on Sept. 9
Fill out a registration form.
Drop off your $25 registration form (which covers your tshirt, concert ticket, etc.
Show up on October 3 at 12:00 p.m. ready to be HOMELESS AND HUNGRY!

This is gonna be awesome...can't wait to see you :)
